Oberon founder Stacey Hill receives Parliament award
Stacey Hill of Oberon has received a HERo award at the Houses of Parliament, recognising her work as a female entrepreneur. It lands at a good moment too, with Oberon marking 40 years on Wyle Cop.
Severn Folk Club launches in Shrewsbury
A new Severn Folk Club is launching at Reabrook Social Club - one of the town’s old social clubs tucked behind Coleham - is launching a new folk night - with monthly live music, open mic nights and guest artists. For a town with such a strong folk reputation, that gives Shrewsbury a regular club night of its own. Link.

Darwins Town opens role play café for under-5s 🧒
Darwins Town is Shrewsbury’s first soft play space built just for children under five. Parents have been waiting for this and bookings have been hard to get because demand is high. Inside is a miniature Shrewsbury where toddlers explore shops, streets and activities through role play. I tested it and it is genuinely excellent! Darwin FB & IG.

Gavin Cowan has been named League Two Manager of the Month after a strong spell for Shrewsbury Town. It is one of the better bits of local football news to land this week.
Tribute paid to Shrewsbury Town supporter and volunteer
Shrewsbury Town has paid tribute to a supporter and pop-up shop volunteer described as part of the heart and soul of the club. It is a sad note, but one that will mean something to plenty of Town supporters
